Get Involved in the Fireweed Project

The Fireweed Project welcomes individuals, families, communities, First Nations, schools, workplaces, organizations, health services, businesses, and volunteers from across the Yukon.

Throughout September 2026, Yukoners are invited to create connection, show appreciation, encourage everyday wellbeing, and help build communities where people feel seen, valued, and supported.

Participation can be simple: wear a Fireweed pin or bracelet, display awareness materials, share a campaign message, or recognize someone who has made a difference. You can also host an activity, access wellness resources, contribute supplies or services, volunteer, fundraise, or provide financial support.

Choose one opportunity or combine several in a way that reflects your interests, resources, and capacity.

Support and Share the Campaign

Help create a visible Yukon-wide expression of connection, appreciation, resilience, and belonging.

You could:

  • Display a Fireweed Project decal, poster, or awareness display

  • Request a digital campaign kit and share approved messages or social media posts

  • Wear or gift a Fireweed pin or bracelet

  • Submit a Fireweed Story

  • Participate in the Fireweed Passport

  • Create a classroom, workplace, office, storefront, or community display

  • Share project information with staff, students, families, members, clients, or community partners

  • Recognize someone who makes a difference in your life or community

Awareness materials and the digital campaign kit are available at no cost. Contact Aurora Wellness Foundation or complete the interest form to request what you need.

Host a Fundraiser or Community Activity

Bring people together through a creative, reflective, wellness, appreciation, or fundraising activity during September.

Ideas include:

  • Host a Fireweed pin-making or pony-bead bracelet activity

  • Organize a classroom, workplace, team, or community wellness activity

  • Host a conversation, coffee gathering, art activity, or appreciation event

  • Display a donation box or Fireweed Collection display

  • Donate a portion of sales or proceeds from a product, service, event, or selected day

  • Match employee or community donations

  • Include the Fireweed Project in an existing event

  • Create an activity that reflects your group, culture, interests, and capacity

Activities may be organized locally, led by a volunteer, or facilitated by a counsellor from Aurora Wellness Group for an additional fee. Please contact us before promoting a fundraiser so we can confirm campaign wording, materials, contribution arrangements, and any support you may need.

Provide Financial Support

Financial contributions help make Fireweed Project activities, resources, and participation more accessible across the Yukon.

Support may help provide:

  • Classroom, youth, community, or group activity kits

  • Fireweed pins and bracelets for people facing barriers to participation

  • Wellness bags and practical group resources

  • Community activities and facilitated workshops

  • Rural and remote outreach, travel, freight, and delivery

  • Awareness materials, printing, and campaign supplies

  • Volunteer-supported activities and resource preparation

  • The area of greatest current need

Contributions that exceed the cost of delivering the Fireweed Project will support accessible mental health counselling, helping individuals and families receive counselling at reduced rates or, when needed, at no cost.

Individuals, groups, organizations, businesses, and funders may contribute financially. Recognition can be public, limited, or anonymous according to the contributor’s preference.

Donate Products, Supplies, or Services

In-kind contributions can reduce project costs, strengthen activities, and help the Fireweed Project reach more Yukoners.

Helpful contributions may include:

  • Products for wellness bags or group kits

  • Fireweed-themed or locally made products

  • Beads, craft supplies, art materials, and activity supplies

  • Printing, signage, packaging, or promotional materials

  • Fireweed Passport prizes

  • Food or refreshments for approved activities

  • Meeting, workshop, storage, or activity space

  • Transportation, freight, or accommodation

  • Photography, videography, design, communications, technology, or marketing

  • Professional expertise or employee volunteer time

Please contact Aurora Wellness Foundation before collecting, purchasing, or delivering items. This allows us to confirm current needs, quantities, suitability, storage capacity, and delivery timelines.

Contributors can choose public recognition, limited recognition, or anonymity. With permission, logos and participation photographs may also be featured through the project website, social media, newsletters, or campaign materials.

Find the Right Way to Participate

You do not need to have a complete plan before contacting us. Tell us what interests you, what type of group or community you represent, and what support or materials you may need.

Requesting information does not commit you to participating, purchasing, fundraising, donating, or providing financial support.

Every Form of Participation Matters

A Yukon-wide campaign is built through many different contributions: a shared message, a displayed poster, a gifted bracelet, a group activity, a donated supply, a volunteer hour, or a conversation that helps someone feel valued.

Thank you for helping create communities where connection, appreciation, belonging, and support can grow throughout September and beyond.

Hope Grows Here.
